Everyone knows that Glenn Scobey "Pop" Warner contributed to the development of football. Just how much, we sometimes forget. For instance, Pop Warner:

  • Came up with the three-point stance
  • Invented shoulder and thigh pads
  • Invented the spiral punt
  • Invented the screen pass
  • Invented the single-wing and double-wing formations
  • Came up with numbering players' jerseys
  • Improved helmets
  • Introduced blocking sleds and tackling dummies to teams' practice routines

In short, his contributions to football were immense.
