NUMBER ONE
Roll Tide Roll. No more to say on this.
NUMBER TWO
The Big 12 does not know how to play defense. 16th ranked Oklahoma beat Texas Tech 66-59 in a shoot out and with no OT. This is a very common score in the Big 12. It’s a big problem, especially with no conference championship game, giving up 59 points is not going to get you to the playoffs.
NUMBER THREE
The Western Michigan Broncos are this season’s Houston Cougars. They have outscored their opponents by 109 points, beat two Big Ten teams, and have not been challenged in a MAC game.
The 22-21 win over Northwestern particularly sticks out as Northwestern might even be able to win the Big Ten West. If Northwestern does win the Big Ten West and WMU runs the table it will be hard for the playoff committed not to give WMU consideration and most definitely spark up the debate for an expanded playoff.
HONORABLE MENTION
The Buckeyes lost in Happy Valley, but they still control their own destiny and remain the favorite to represent the BIG 10 in the playoffs in our analysis here at Faniacs. However, J.T. Barrett’s Heisman run is over; his passing has been too inconsistent.
