Faniacs All-Time Power Rankings – Updated for the 2015 Season (Factoid 762)

Date: 2/10/16

We updated our Faniacs All-Time Power Rankings, however there was no movement in the top seven.

Our criteria are:

  • Number of wins
  • Number of National Championships
  • Consistent high level play
  • Number of Heisman winners
  • Number of Conference Championships
  • Historical Winning Percentage
  • National Championships in the BCS era and now the Playoff Era

The teams were all ranked accordingly. Scores were added up and the lowest score won. Here are the top seven as of the end of the 2015th season with points in parenthesis. (Lowest score wins.)

1. Ohio State (21)
2. Michigan (22)
3. Alabama (24 +)
4. Oklahoma (24=)
5. Notre Dame (24-)
6. USC (25)
7. Nebraska (33)

Alabama, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame had equal scores. Alabama won the tie-breaker due to the Number of National Championships and Notre Dame lost the three way tie due to its lack of success in the last 25 years.

2015 National Championship Game [Blu-ray+ DVD]

Ohio State’s most unlikely National Championship Game. First their starter: Braxton Miller goes down due a week before the season is to start. Then J.T. Barrett, who overcame early season jitters, comes on strong and is chugging along, until he is injured at the end of the Ohio State Michigan game. Steps in Cardale Jones who played magnificently in Conference Championships, first round of the College Football Playoffs, and in the National Championship game.

This DVD shows the final triumph in the National Championship Game. A much-have. Buy below.
