Jerry Jones played for the Arkansas Razorbacks. He was a running back in high school and played a bit of that in college, but he became a lineman.

Jerry Jones was on the 1964 Arkansas Razorback National Championship team that went 11-0. In 1964 Jerry was an all-Southwest Conference offensive lineman for Hall of Fame coach Frank Broyles and a teammate of Jimmy Johnson. Other notable teammates were Glen Ray Hines, a consensus All-American offensive tackle, Ken Hatfield, Jim Lindsey, and future Outland Trophy winner Loyd Phillips.

Jerry Jones purchased the Dallas Cowboys in February 25, 1989, Jones and almost immediately fired legendary Coach Tom Landry. Jerry’s Cowboys have won three Super Bowls. A bit later he also fired the Cowboys’ longtime general manager Tex Schramm. Jerry’s Cowboys have won three Super Bowls while he has been owner. He is to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as member of the 2017 Hall of Fame class for his accomplishments as owner of the Dallas Cowboys.
