Harold Edward "Red" Grange, was born on June 13, 1903. He played for the Fighting Illini where he earned the name of The Galloping Ghost due to his elusiveness and speed. Some college data on Red Grange:

3,362 rushing yards
Caught 14 passes
253 receiving yards
Completed 40 of 82 passes thrown
575 passing yards
31 touchdowns (16 of which were at least 20 yards)
In his 20 games he only failed to score in a 1925 loss to Nebraska
Three time All-American
Red Grange went on to play in the NFL and is both in the College and Pro Football Hall of Fame.
