Joe Namath played for Bear Bryant for three seasons from 1962 to 1964. Over his career at Alabama Joe threw for 2,713, 24 TDs, and 20 interceptions, and ran for 563 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Jalen Hurts is the present Alabama starting QB for Nick Saban. He has thrown for 1,549, 11 TDs, and five interceptions, and ran for 521 yards and nine TDs. He has only played in eight games.

Jalen could conceivable play seven more games this season. If he stays healthy he should be able to pass Joe Namath’s record mid-season next year. Joe only played in 30 games in his three career, but Jalen’s numbers more than anything reflect the way college football has changed.
