Kurt Warner played for the University of Northern Iowa. He played there from 1990 to 1993. He was third on the depth chart, until he started his senior season. The Northern Iowa Panthers are part of the FCS (Division II) in College Football. Given the chance Kurt did shine leading his Panthers to an 8-3 record and winning the Gateway Conference's Offensive Player of the Year.

Kurt Warner went undrafted in the 1994 NFL Draft. He tried out for the Green Bay Packers competing for a spot against Brett Favre, Mark Brunell and former Heisman Trophy winner Ty Detmer. He was released before the season began, but was told by Steve Mariucci that he had enormous potential, but was he was not ready for the NFL. Warner started working at the Hy-Vee grocery store in Cedar Falls for $5.50 an hour and returned to Northern Iowa and worked as a graduate assistant coach with the football team. He was hoping for an NFL tryout, however he never got one.

In 1995 Kurt signed with the Arena League football team the Iowa Barnstormers. He played for them for three years and set the league on fire. He is a member of the Arena League Football Hall of Fame. In 1998 Kurt Warner was signed by the St. Louis Rams and was sent to play for the NFL Europe's Amsterdam Admirals. Warner was sent back to Rams and played as their third string QB in 1998. In 1999 Warner got his chance to start for the Rams due to an injury to Trent Green. Kurt never looked back running “The Greatest Show On Turf”; leading one of the most high powered offenses ever to play in the NFL.

Kurt amassed 32,344 yards passing and 208 TD over his 12 year NFL career. He won Super Bowl XXXIV and was the MVP. He also led the Ram to Super Bowl XXXVI, but lost to the Patriots by a score of 20-17 on a game ending field goal by Adam Vinatieri. Due to injuries Warner was released by the Rams in 2003 and played for the Giants in 2004, but lost the starting job to Eli Manning.

Kurt Warner ended up as an Arizona Cardinal in 2005, where he would resurrect his career. In the 2008 season Kurt Warner would take his team to Super Bowl XLIII. They lost to the Steelers by a score of 27-23. Kurt Warner played in three Super Bowls, was the MVP of Super Bowl XXXIV, was a four-time Pro-Bowler, a two-time NFL MVP, and had one of the greatest seasons ever for a quarterback in 1999. He is to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as member of the 2017 Hall of Fame class.
