Ole Miss has had one number one draft pick and that was Eli Manning. Mississippi State has not had an overall number one draft pick.

In the 2004 NFL Draft the San Diego Chargers picked first and chose Eli Manning, however they immediately traded Eli to the New Your Giants.

Eli’s senior year in college he won the the Maxwell Award and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award; that same year he finished third in Heisman voting. Eli has won two Super Bowls with the New York Giants.

Mississippi State has not had an overall number one draft pick, but has had a player taken 2nd, that player was linebacker Johnie Cooks in the 1982 NFL Draft. Cooks went on the play in the NFL for ten years and also won a Super Bowl with the New York Giants.
