Colt McCoy played for the Longhorns from 2006 to 2009. He has the most passing yards in Texas history with 13,253.
Major Applewhite who played for the Horns from 1989 to 2001 is second with 8,353 passing yards. James Brown who played for the Horns from 1994 to 1997 is third with 7,638 passing yards. Interestingly, Heisman Trophy winner Vince Young is more than 7,000 passing yards behind Colt; true Colt played one more year, but 7,000 yards is a ton of difference.
Colt McCoy played for Cleveland for two years and now is primarily a backup. He does have a three year nine-million-dollar contract with the Redskins. It’s not a bad life being a backup in the NFL. In contrast Vince Young was given a chance at Tennessee, but became a backup and relagated to the NFL practice squads after the 2011 season. Vince just signed a contract to play for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL, but he has been out of the NFL since 2014. His base salary will be $120,000 a year. Colt has had a longer NFL career than Vince and probably will still be backing up QBs in the NFL for a while.
