Factoid 415 - Who has the 4th worst all time Wonderlic score for an NFL Prospect?
Date: 3/4/15
Frank Gore, FB for the Miami Hurricanes, scored a 6 on the Wonderlic, which earned him the honor of the 4th worst score on this test in NFL history. Gore played for the University of Miami (FL) in 2001 and from 2003 to 2004. He did not play in 2002 due to an injury. Gore had a solid career at Miami running for a total of 1,975 yards and scoring 17 touchdowns over his three year career.

“The Wonderlic is a 50-question test administered to all combine participants that measures cognitive ability. The time limit is 12 minutes. A score of 20 is indicative of ‘average’ intelligence and roughly equivalent to an IQ of 100. Apr 12, 2014.” - ESPN

Gore entered the 2005 NFL draft. He was picked 65th overall in the third round by the 49ers. Did his score result in being picked lower than if he had scored better on the Wonderlic? Well, it can’t help to be the 4th dumbest player ever at the NFL Combine. The low Wonderlic score has not affected Gore’s playing in the NFL. He is a five time Pro-Bowler and has rushed for 11,073 yards in his ten year career. He is most certainly the poster child for success in the NFL despite a terrible Wonderlic score.
