Factoid 431 – Who holds the NFL Combine bench press record?
Date: 3/20/15
At the NFL Combine players are asked to bench press 225 pounds as many times as possible. The record was set by Justin Ernest, a defensive tackle for the Eastern Kentucky Colonels, at the 1991 NFL Combine. He set the record with 51 repetitions.

Justin went undrafted but did make the practice squad for the New Orleans Saints. He was on the practice squad for only one year. Apparently, there are many more things that the NFL looks for other than just your bench press strength.
