Factoid 420 - Who has the 2nd best all time Wonderlic score for an NFL Prospect?
Date: 3/9/15
Mike Mamula, DE for Boston College, scored a 49 on the Wonderlic, which earned him the honor of the 2nd best score on this test in NFL history. Mamula played for Boston College from 1992 to 1994. His senior season he had 17 sacks and was voted All-Big East.

Mike Mamula as a DE for the Philadelphia Eagles

“The Wonderlic is a 50-question test administered to all combine participants that measures cognitive ability. The time limit is 12 minutes. A score of 20 is indicative of ‘average’ intelligence and roughly equivalent to an IQ of 100. Apr 12, 2014.” - ESPN

Mike Mamula not only scored 49 on the Wonderlic, but his NFL combine physical tests were also out of this world; as a result of this and his play at Boston College, Mamula was drafted seventh by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1995 NFL Draft. From 1995 to 2000 he played well and had good statistics for the Eagles; however, injuries cut his career short, and 2000 was the last year Mike played. In this case the Wonderlic couldn’t predict the injury problems but did predict Mike could play in the NFL.
