Factoid 417 - Who has the 3rd worst all time Wonderlic score for an NFL Prospect?
Date: 3/6/15
Edward ‘Pig’ Prather, S for Mississippi State, scored a 5 on the Wonderlic, which earned him the honor of the 3rd worst score on this test in NFL history. Prather played safety for Mississippi State from 1998 to 2001. Prather was a good college safety, but he tended to gamble in his coverage and would get burned as a result of this.

“The Wonderlic is a 50-question test administered to all combine participants that measures cognitive ability. The time limit is 12 minutes. A score of 20 is indicative of ‘average’ intelligence and roughly equivalent to an IQ of 100. Apr 12, 2014.” - ESPN

Prather’s low score of 5 on the Wonderlic confirmed what was suspected about his ability: plenty of physical talent, but he couldn’t mentally understand coverages. He may or may not watched much film. He had a non-existent NFL career. In this case a low Wonderlic correctly predicted no success in the NFL.
